Rally Falls Short as Men's Hoops Lose to Denver 73-63

Raymond Taylor scored 20 points on the night, but the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team lost to the University of Denver 73-63 on Saturday afternoon.The game was tied at seven early in the first half when Denver went on a 17-6 run to take 24-13 lead with just over seven minutes remaining in the period. FAU cut the lead to as little as five late in the first, but went to halftime break trailing 37-29.

Raymond Taylor set the school record for assists in a season, but the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team had its five-game winning streak snapped in a 86-69 loss to North Texas on Thursday night.The Owls fell behind by 13 in the first half, the lead eventually swelled to 18 at halftime. A 17-4 FAU run early in the second half cut the lead to seven, but the Mean Green scored the next nine points to put the game away.

The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team hit a season-high 15 three-pointers in defeating rival FIU 106-88 on Saturday night.Playing in front of a sellout crowd, the Owls (12-10, 8-3 Sun Belt) closed the first half on a 26-13 run to take a 52-36 lead in the break. Sanchez Hughley and Shavar Richardson led the Owls with 14 points apiece. A 15-3 Owl run early in the second half put FAU ahead 72-48 with 14:39 remaining in the game.

A 7-0 run early in the second half put the Owls ahead, 46-45. Gantt capped the run with a layin. The two teams went back and forth for several minutes, before FAU scored eight in a row as part of an 11-3 run to push the lead to 10 with 3:52 remaining.
