All-Sunshine State Team Announced

June 15, 2005

SEBaseball.com released its All-Sunshine State Team on Tuesday. Four Florida Atlantic University players were recognized on the list. Mickey Storey continues to garner recognition as he was named to the First Team and the Sunshine State Freshman of the Year. Mike McBryde, Mike McKenna and Brandon Kloess were also selected.

After posting a 10-1 record, seven saves and 1.70 ERA, Storey added on to his list of accomplishments for the year with the First Team honors. He was previously named Collegiate Baseball's Freshman Pitcher of the Year and to Louisville Sluggers Third Team All-America list.

Mike McBryde picked up Second Team honors as a relief pitcher. The sophomore finished the season with 10 saves and a 3.11 ERA. He struck out 49 batters in 37.2 innings and held opponents to a .231 batting average. The North Palm Beach, FL native earned First Team All-Conference honors for his efforts in the outfield earlier this season.

After earning All-Freshmen honors in the Atlantic Sun Conference, Mike McKenna (Delray Beach, FL) was named to SEBaseball.com's All-Freshmen Team. He hit .283 and finished in the top five on the team in RBI (33) and home runs (6).

Named to the Honorable Mention All-Freshman team (which included first year starters), Brandon Kloess finished the season with an 8-2 record and 4.17 ERA with 48 strikeouts in 58.1 innings of work.

FAU earned a trip to its fourth consecutive NCAA Regional and sixth in the past seven seasons in 2005. The team finished with a 37-24 record and second in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
