Owls Head to DeLand for A-Sun Tournament

With its first Atlantic Sun Conference sweep of the season last weekend, Florida Atlantic University heads into this week's A-Sun Tournament as the no. 4 seed. The Owls (29-26) will face defending A-Sun Champion Stetson (34-22) on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The tournament will be hosted by Stetson University at Melching Field in DeLand, FL. The four-day event will crown the A-Sun Champion on Saturday with an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Jacksonville University enters the tournament as the no. 1 seed with a 41-15 overall record and will face no. 6 Campbell (19-36) on Wednesday at 11 a.m. In the second game of the tournament at 3 p.m., no. 2 Mercer (32-24) will take on no. 5 ETSU (29-25). The Owls won the double-elimination tournament in 2004 and look to win the title in the university's last season in the conference. For ticket information call 386-738-HATS.
