Baseball Headed to A-Sun Tournament
May 18, 2003 A heated Atlantic Sun conference race ended on Saturday night as the tournament seedings were determined. Florida Atlantic University will enter the field as the number one seed and will play Jacksonville University at 11 am on May 21 at Melching Field in DeLand, FL. The six-team double-elimination tournament runs through May 24. The winner receives the A-Sun's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The no. 6 seed, Jacksonville, earned a spot in the tournament after sweeping UCF on Saturday. The Dolphins will enter the week with a 27-26 record. When the two teams met earlier this season, FAU won the series with a doubleheader sweep on May 3. Making appearances for the first time in the tournament will be the no. 4 seed Belmont and no. 5 seed Gardner-Webb. Belmont joined the league last season, while GWU is in its first season in the conference.
