BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University won back-to-back series to close out the regular season and have earned a berth into the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championships Wednesday, May 20 through Saturday, May 23 in Troy, Alabama. FAU (29-24) will be the league's No. 8 seed and prepare to face top-seeded Middle Tennessee State (38-15) in the first round. First pitch for FAU's tournament opener is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

Florida Atlantic enters the tournament playing some of its best baseball of the year. FAU raced out to a 13-3 start to the season but needed a strong finish to qualify for postseason play. The Owls reeled off a seven-game winning streak in late April. Then, FAU knocked off both Arkansas State on the road and FIU in its home finale, claiming consecutive SBC series to finish out its 2009 schedule.
