FAU First Pitch Banquet and Alumni Weekend
The Florida Atlantic University athletic department cordially invites you to join Head Coach Kevin Cooney and the FAU baseball program on the weekend of February 21-24. Reconnect with former players and cheer on the team as they open the season hosting a three-game series against the 5th-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels, two-time defending College World Series runners-up. In addition to what promises to be an exciting weekend series, FAU baseball will be inducting five new members into its Hall of Fame. The ceremony will kick off First Pitch and Alumni Weekend. This year's honorees include Pat Murphy ('81-82), Jorge Vega ('81-83), Doug Gonring ('84-85), Kevin Connacher ('94-97), and Tommy Murphy ('98-00). Along with the induction ceremonies, awards from the 2007 season will be presented.All former letter-winners and parents of current players are invited to attend this event. Baseball alumni can attend each game at no cost, compliments of the FAU Athletics Varsity "O" Club. Thursday Feb. 21- Sunday Feb. 24, 2008
Thursday - Hall of Fame Induction/Parents and Alumni Dinner @ 6:00 p.m. Friday - Game 1 @ 6:30 p.m. Saturday - Baseball Alumni Home Run Derby @ 1:00 p.m. followed by a BBQ at the field and Game 2 @ 4:00 p.m. Sunday - Game 3 @ NOON -All games will be played at FAU Baseball Field on the Boca Raton Campus CLICK HERE for lodging information from our partner hotels.
