Arkansas State University avoided a Sun Belt Conference sweep by defeating Florida Atlantic University 9-6 on Sunday afternoon at FAU Stadium. The Indians took an early 4-1 lead after one inning and held on to improve to 11-18, 4-8 SBC, while FAU falls to 21-11, 4-8 SBC.

Drew Rogers led the charge for Arkansas State with a three-for-five performance, while the bottom of the lineup, Cody Pace and Jordan Kimball, finished with a team-leading two RBI.

Robbie Widlansky led the FAU offense by going 3-for-5 at the plate with an RBI, a solo home run in the sixth inning.

Nick Lambert earned the win in relief for ASU with four innings of work. He allowed one run on two hits and struck out three.

FAU will resume play on Friday, April 6 when it travels to Louisiana-Monroe for a three-game conference series. Friday's contest is scheduled for 7 p.m. et with a scheduling change on Saturday. It will feature a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. et.
