Summer (2009): Played in the Cape Cod League for the Harwich Mariners... finished with a 2.51 ERA, 22k's in 14.1 innings... led team in five categories: K's per nine innings (13.82), batting average against (.189), saves (4) and games finished (11) and tied for most appearances (13). Sophomore (2009): | Season Stats | Another impressive season, leading the team in saves (6), K's per nine innings (11.07), games finished (14)... ranked second on the staff in K's (50), wins (4) and opponent batting average (.234)... began the season as a starter but quickly moved into the role of closer... went 3-1 with six saves, closing out 14 of the 17 games he appeared in out of the bullpen... facilitated FAU's comeback win over FIU (5/16) which proved to clinch the Owls of a spot in the postseason tournament, striking out a career-high nine batters, fanning nine of the 13 batters he faced in four-plus innings of scoreless baseball from innings 8-12... six of those K's against FIU were of the swinging variety and three batters were punched-out looking - only nine of his 57 pitches that day drew contact from FIU bats...had been 1-2 as an early-season starter, striking out six in six innings of three-hit baseball to beat Stony Brook (2/28)...closed-out FAU's 6-5 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette (3/13) via a clutch strikeout with runners on base... was named the closer by late-March... earned his second save of the year by pitching a scoreless ninth in FAU's 5-4 win over ULM (3/27)... finished the regular season strong, allowing just two earned runs in his last eight appearances (April 18-May 15)... picked up four straight saves from April 18-April 24, including closing-out close victories against a pair of NCAA Tournament teams in Bethune-Cookman (4/21) and Western Kentucky (4/24)... finished the year 4-3 overall, allowing just eight earned runs in his last 15 appearances. Freshman (2008): | Season Stats | Outstanding numbers: 30 K's in 18-2/3 innings pitched, 2.89 ERA and 3-1 record...earned national recognition at season's end as an honorable mention all-freshmen player by Pingbaseball.com...closed out No. 1 Miami (4/9) to allow FAU a historic victory over its local rival in Coral Gables...allowed just two hits in five Sun Belt Conference appearances during the regular season...fanned a season-high eight in his only start vs. Mount St. Mary's (2/27)...picked up his first collegiate save, striking out three in 1-1/3 innings vs. Boston College (3/4)...earned first win working a perfect 2/3 innings against MTSU (2/23)...went through a 10-appearance stretch from March 2-April 9 without allowing an earned run...missed a significant amount of time during the second half of the season due to injury.
