Track Ready for A-Sun Championship

April 18, 2002

Florida Atlantic University women's track team will begin competition at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship on Friday afternoon. The competition begins at 4 pm and will continue through Saturday in Troy, AL.

The Lady Owls should have an excellent showing in their second conference champopnship. The team has 16 top-five times in the conference entering the competition. Katrina Lindsey has a league best 10'11.75" in the pole vault. Vicki Briggs and Daquia McCoy could also vie for the top spot in the 100-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash. Both currently have second place times in the A-Sun during the regular season with marks of 13.99 and 24.05. Briggs' time of 13.99 is .01 seconds behind Yarjatta Rose, a senior from Georgia State.
