Mouthon Leads Owls at A-Sun Championships

BUIES CREEK, N.C -- Elodie Mouthon finished her first season as a member of the Florida Atlantic University women's cross country on a high note, finishing a team-high 17th at the Atlantic Sun Championships at Campbell University on Saturday.

She completed the 5k course in 18:47, edging out teammate Linn Modin by just two seconds. For Mouthon's efforts, she received All-Freshman honors.

The Owls finished fifth on the women's side, while the men came in 10th.

Earl Barlow led the men's squad with an 8k time of 27:48, good enough for 43rd.

Belmont won the team competition on the men's side, while Kennesaw State took home the women's title. It was Belmont's fifth consecutive A-Sun Championship in men's cross country, while KSU's victory gave the school its first championship as a member of the A-Sun.
