DeLand, FL - Paced by six top-ten finishes, Florida Atlantic University's women's cross-country team took first place out of 14 teams at the Stetson Hatter Invitational. Atlantic Sun Runner-of-the-Week Raynell Hagberg won her second career meet while Trisha Doyle, Monika Grabowiecka, Linn Modin, Allison Wilcox and Brittany Powers finished in the top-10.

"This was a very big win and was a very big confidence booster for us," head coach Alex Smolka said. "The men had a season best finish and it was great for Nick [Jarriel] to finish in the top-five. This meet just further prepares us for the conference tournament."

The women had 11 runners finish in the top-40 out of 122 athletes. Hagberg finished the 5k race in 18:48. Doyle took second place, finishing in 18:53 while Grabowiecka finished fourth at 19:13. The women finished with a team score of 21 points, less than three times the total of second place Jacksonville (71).
