FAU Finishes Third and Fourth at FIU Invitational

Sept. 29, 2001

Florida Atlantic University's men's and women's cross country teams finished third and fourth at the FIU Invitational. In their best finish of the season, five runners finished in the top-20.

Claudia Beitel finished fourth in the field with a time of 20:31.39. Jill Gnieski and Amy Schmidt also crossed the line under 22:20 and in the top-20

Greg Burke (27:25.71) and Brian Mulvaney (27:43.46) finished 10th and 11th for the men and with an average mile time of 5:31 and 5:34, respectively.

Next weekend the teams will compete in the Walt Disney World Classic.
