Women's Cross Country Finishes Seventh

Athens, GA - Florida Atlantic University's women's cross country runner Claudia Beitel finished 10th out of 78 runners at the Bulldog Stampede Invitational as the team finished seventh. Beitel ran her second best 5k time of the year, 18:48.45, while three others finished in the top 40.

Beitel, a senior from Longwood, FL, finished in the top ten for her third straight race. She had finished first and second in her previous two races. Sophomore Raynell Hagberg finished 35th with a time of 20:15.10 in her first race of the year. Amy Springer, 20:17.60, and Monika Grabowiecka, 20:19.88 finished 36th and 38th.

Other runners for the FAU women's team: Brittany Powers, 21:30.50, Artemis Sanidakis, 21:47.55, Abby Moore, 22:02.89 and Erin Mayros, 23.27.93.

Both the men and women's cross country team will return to action at the FLrunners.com Invitational on Friday, October 3 in Tampa, FL.
