Miami, FL. - Florida Atlantic University's Greg Burke and Ryan Lavender both finished in the top-11 out of a 30-man field at the 8K FIU/Lourdes Cross Country Invitational. Burke recorded his third straight top five finish while Lavender finished 11th in his first collegiate 8K race.

Burke, a senior from Lantana, FL, ran a time of 26:23.35. Burke has finished in the top five in all of his races in 2003, with two top three finishes. Lavender, who last ran in the Sailfish Invitational at Okeeheelee Park, finished with a time of 27:04.94.

The women's cross-country team heads to Athens, Georgia September 20, to take part in the University of Georgia Bulldog Stampede.
