,In the first meet of the season, Florida Atlantic University's cross country teams traveled to Palm Beach Atlantic and had runners finish first in both the men's and women's events. Greg Burke completed the three mile run in 16:24.56 and Claudia Beitel earned a first place finish with a time of 18:03.98.

The women's team had three athletes finish in the top-five while FAU's men's team was the only team awarded places.

The teams are under the direction of new head coach Alex Smolka and travel to the UCF Invitational on September 7.
