Lady Owls use Georgia Tech Invitational as Tune-up

Atlanta, GA - With the NCAA Regional meet quickly approaching, Florida Atlantic University's women's track team used the Georgia Tech Invitational to fine tune for the NCAA meet scheduled for May 30-31.
Seven have now qualified. The 4x400 meter relay team of Malika Clary, Jian Jones, Daquia McCoy and Marilyn Stephens will be the first FAU relay team to represent the Owls in post-season competition. At the GT Invitational, the team of Helenor Wilson, Shanna Williams, Marcia Laws and Cindy Lane set a new FAU record with a time of 3:49.26. The squad shaved off .13 seconds surpassing the previous mark of 3:49.39 set at the University of Miami Gatorade Invitational.
The 4x100 relay team as well as Ashley Stough (hammer), Wilson in the 400m hurdles and Raynell Hagberg in the 800 m run will travel to Fairfax, VA for the NCAA Regional Championships scheduled for May 30-31 and hosted by George Mason University.
