Track Finishes Season at A-Sun Championship

Vicki Briggs was named Most Outstanding Freshman at the Atlantic Sun Track Championship in Troy, Alabama. She helped lead Florida Atlantic University to a fourth place finish.

In the final day of competition, Briggs earned two top-five individual finishes in the 100-meter dash (11.92) and the 100-meter hurdles (14.33). Briggs finished the weekend with four top-five individual finishes. She also competed in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays with fellow freshmen Courtney Barge, Daquia McCoy, Helenor Wilson and Raynell Hagberg. The 4x100 team finished second with a time of 46.27 seconds, while the 4x400 finished fourth (4:01.45).

Wilson also picked up a second place finish in the 400-meter hurdles.

Daquia McCoy ran the 100-meter dash in 12.15, good for a fourth place finish. She also picked up third in the 200-meter dash (24.71).

The men's cross country team competed in the championship for the first time. Greg Burke earned points for the men as he finished fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.36.
