Orlando, FL. - Florida Atlantic University's women's track and field team recorded the programs best finish at the Atlantic Sun Championship by finishing in a tie for third place overall. Katrina Lindsay and Raynell Hagberg took first place in their respective events, the 4x100m relay team took first place and 11 other Lady Owls finished in the top-six.

Hagberg, a Stuart, FL native, ran an 800m-dash time of 2:12.86 to take first overall and finish her third race in the top three this year. Lindsay, the top performer in the A-Sun in the pole vault, had a mark of 3.25m to win that event.

Three members of FAU qualified for the 100m-dash with Malika Clary taking fourth place overall with a time of 12.08. Clary also tied for third in the 200m-dash with a time of 24.03 with Daquia McCoy placing fifth with a time of 24.17. Helenor Wilson recorded the top performance of the year for the Lady Owls in the 400m with a time of 57.30 to finish fifth overall. Wilson then finished third overall in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.84 while Cindy Lane ran a time of 1:04.31 to finish fourth overall.

The relay teams for the Lady Owls did an exceptional job with the 4x100m relay team taking first place honors with a time of 45.92 and the 4x400m relay team taking second place with a time of 3:49.46.

Marcia Laws finished fifth overall in the triple jump with a jump of 11.11m. Ashley Stough was able to carry over her performance from yesterday in the field events with a second place finish in the discus throw and a sixth place finish in the shot put.

Four members of the men's cross-country team competed in the distance events. Junior Greg Burke finished fifth overall in the 800m with a time of 1:56.64, freshman Daniel Goldsmith competed in the 1500m, Lee Beckman competed in the 5000m and Brian Mulvaney took seventh in the 10000m run.

FAU will compete in its next meet Friday, April 25 at the Drake Invitational.
