CORAL GABLES, FL - The Florida Atlantic track team performed well at the Hurricane Challenge over the weekend.

Taylor Reeves set a new school record in the 1,500 meters, crossing the finish line in 4:04.96, good for second place. Angela Kerr-Smith set a personal record in the 200 meters, running a time of 24.87. In the 800 meters, Patricia Gumbs set a personal record of 2:14.04. Charlene Luxama and Toni Jackson also ran well in that event. Jaymie Brooks set a personal record of 11:48.87 in the 3,000 meters.

"I feel like the team is peaking at the right time and we headed in the right direction," said assistant coach Owen McGregor.

The Owls return to action next weekend when they travel to Gainesville for the Florida Relays.
