Track Competes at FIU Collegiate Invitational

Final Stats

Florida Atlantic University had seven top-six finishes at the FIU Collegiate Invitational. The Lady Owls were lead by Vicki Briggs who accumulated three top-six finishes and won the long jump with a distance of 5.87 meters.

Briggs also finished fifth in the 100 meter dash behind fellow teammate Daquia McCoy who finished the event in a time of 11.94 seconds. Briggs also competed in the 100 meter low hurdles were she posted a time of 14.32 seconds for sixth place.

FAU rounded out the top two in the long jump. Briggs finished first followed by Courtney Barge. Only 3 ¼ inches separated first and second place.

Barge earned another second in the triple jump where she jumped 11.92 meters. In other field events, Nina Panebianco finished fifth in the discus throw with a distance of 41.12 meters.

Cross country runner, Greg Burke, competed in the 800 meter run finishing fourth in 1:59.07 second, 5.65 behind the leader.
