FAU participates in JU Invitational

Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's track and field team traveled to Jacksonville to participate in the Masters Inn/JU Track and Field Invitational. The 16 team event took place at the Ashley Sports Complex.

In their second meet of the season the Lady Owls had seven individuals place in the top- ten in their respective events. Daveidra Jenkins made it to the finals in the 100-meter dash and finished sixth with a time of 12.43.

The 4x400 and the 4x100 meter relays picked up points for FAU as they placed seventh and eighth, respectively, with times of 4:05.97 and 49.56.

A 1.5 second difference separated eighth place from 10th in the 1500-meter run, as Claudia Beitel finished 10th with a time of 4:57.21. Susanne Rowe was only three seconds off the lead when she finished ninth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:21.63.

FAU was represented by Princess Williams and Ashaki Hayes in the field events. Williams finished eighth in the high jump with a final jump of 1.48m. Hayes participated in the discus where she threw for a distance of 27.62m which earned her a 10th place finish.

The Lady Owls next travel to Tallahassee to participate in the Florida A&M Relays on March 10.
