NEW YORK, NY - Friederike Feil and Idalis Velazquez set school records as the Florida Atlantic track team competed at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.

Feil's school record came in the 3,000 meters when she finished third in a time of 9:46.14. It was 13 seconds better than Feil's previous time in the event, which was the old school record.

Velazquez's leap of 18'11 is more than 17 inches better than FAU's previous best mark in the long jump. Toyria Mattear (57.17) and Lindsay Glover (58.98) both set personal records in the 400 meters. The Owls return to action this weekend when they travel to Clermont, FL for the National Winter Training Meet.
