Owls Swim at Indian River

In its second meet in as many days, Florida Atlantic University swam at Indian River Community College on Saturday afternoon. The Owls' women's team defeated the Pioneers 180-177 while the FAU men fell 109-185.

Lindsey Alexander, Ellie Weberg, Jennifer Forcht and Stephanie DeRito opened the meet with a win in 1:49.13 in the 200 medley relay. The relay team of Geni Burts, Hallie Kiehlmier, Jessica Lampkin and Bianca Murphy followed in second with a time of 1:50.25.

Jennifer Forcht, Lindsey Alexander and Geni Burts all won two individual events. Forcht took first in the 200 free (1:55.19) and 100 fly (57.72). Dominating the backstroke events, Alexander took the 100 back in 1:00.81 and swam 2:09.11 in the 200 back. By swimming a time of 2:07.47 in the 200 fly and 5:02.50 in the 500 free, Burts added two wins.

In the 1650 free, Lauren Shue won the event in 17:12.66.

For the men, diver, Nick McMahon won both the one and three-meter events with a score of 284.10 on the one-meter and 284.70 on the three -meter.
 

 

In the 200 back, Jonathon Pinto won the 200 back in 1:55.67. Eight other men took second in their individual events.

Florida Atlantic hits the road again next weekend when the teams compete in the three-day Georgia Tech Invitational beginning on Friday.
