Nikole Jones Named Assistant Swim Coach

Oct. 20, 2004

Nikole Jones has become the newest member of the Florida Atlantic University swim coaching staff, announced FAU head coach Steve Eckelkamp.

"We are excited to have such a quality coach that can make an immediate impact join our staff," said Eckelkamp. "With her background she will be able to come in mid-season and help the team accomplish its goals."

Jones comes to the Owls after serving as the head women's swimming and diving coach at Georgia Southern University.

In her second season at the helm of the Eagles' program in 2004, Jones guided the squad to a third place finish at the Northeast Conference Championships.

While in Statesboro, GA, she also started and coached the Statesboro Masters Swim Team. She kept busy in the summers by acting as a camp coach at Stanford University's swim camps.

Before gaining her head coaching position, she served as an assistant high school coach at MaClay School in Tallahassee, FL while acting as the head aquatic club swim coach.

After graduating from the College of Charleston in 1999, she served as an assistant coach at her alma mater. While attending the C of C she was a team co-captain, a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Board and was co-president for one year.
