Swimming Steady at Minnesota Invitational

Final Stats

After the first day of competition at the Minnesota Invitational, both the men's and women's swimming teams are fifth. The women have collected 108 points while the men have 101.5.

Pavel Babaev highlighted the day for the Owls when he picked up first place in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 20.44. The time was a season-best for the sophomore from Ft. Myers, FL.

Robert Langsett also earned a top-five finish in the 500-yard freestyle when he swam a season-best time of 4:30.92. The time was a 15 second improvement from his previous fastest time against Florida State.

The women's 200-yard freestyle relay team composed of Emma Petersson, Boguslawa Bedyk, Valeria Dalmastro and Lisa Andersson touched the wall in 1:35.24 for a second place finish. Petersson also swam her way to a second place finish in the 200 IM when she completed the race in 2:03.51.

The teams will compete at the Minnesota Invitational through Sunday.
