![]() Lindsey Alexander Leads FAU in Day 1 at Georgia Tech Invite

Two freshmen had outstanding performances for Florida Atlantic University at the first day of the Georgia Tech Invitational. Lindsey Alexander placed second in the 200 IM, shy of the first place finisher by .41 seconds. Her time of 2:06.24 added 17 points for the Owls. Jennifer Forcht also advanced to the A final of the event and placed seventh in 2:10.75. The men's 200 free relay placed fourth in the event. Pavel Babaev, Kevin Bartell, Doug Potvin and Kenny Anderson combined for a time of 1:23.81. Geni Burts advanced to the finals of the 500 free where she clocked a time of 4:59.91 Diver Lauren Harvath placed fourth in the one-meter event with a score of 260.90 The women's 400 medley relay team of Alexander, Ellie Webereg, Forcht and Bianca Murphy posted a time of 3:51.75 for a third-place showing. Jonathon Pinto, Kevin Bartell, Kenny Anderson and Pavel Babaev teamed up for the 400 medley relay and placed fourth. The relay set a mark of 3:26.34 in the event.
After day one of the three-day event, no. 15 Florida State leads the men's competition with a score of 438, followed by Georgia Tech (306), Western Kentucky (209) and Florida Atlantic 136) On the women's side, no. 16 FSU leads with a score of 363. Rice (175), WKU (172.50), Georgia Tech (164), FAU (145.50), Gardner-Webb (83), Miami (81) and New Orleans (28) are chasing the Seminoles. |
