Gregory and Dalmastro Win the 100 Breaststroke and 50 Free

Final Stats

Elizabeth Gregory (Papillion, NE) and Valeria Dalmastro (Miami, FL) both picked up first place finishes for Florida Atlantic University in the first day of a tri meet against Georgia Tech and Purdue at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center. Gregory finished the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.02 and Dalmastro won the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.31 to pace the Lady Owls.

Freshman Geni Burts (Pembroke Pines, FL) picked up three top-five finishes. She was the runner-up in the 1000 freestyle and 200 IM (2:08.30). Her time of 10:18.58 in the 1000 free shaved five seconds off of her season-best time.

In the 100 backstroke Kelly Pancake (Melbourne, FL) finished third in 58.92.
 

 

For the men, Richard Marzonie (Cape Coral, FL) and Travis Howard (Apopka, FL) both finished third in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke, respectively. Marzonie touched the wall in 42.41, while Howard set a season-best time of 58.11 in the 100 breast.

Kenny Anderson (Jacksonville, FL) picked up a fifth place finish in the 200 butterfly (1:56.20) and teamed with Marzonie, Howard and Trey Smith to finish second in the 400 medley relay (3:30.16).

The meet will continue on Saturday at 11 am.
