Swim Teams Finish Third at Florida Inviational

Final Stats

Florida Atlantic University's swim teams both had individual second place finishers in the 50-yard freestyle at the Florida Invitational on Saturday. Valeria Dalmastro touched the wall in 24.18 for seven points for the Owls, while Rich Marzonie earned second place after he saw a time of 21.53. Both teams finished third at the Invitational.

The meet was the first of the season for the men and Marzonie led the Owls with another second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke. The junior from Cape Coral, FL posted a time of 52.70 in the event for 14 of FAU's 59 points.

In the 200-yard butterfly, Kenny Anderson added a fourth place finish with a time to 51.13.

On the women's side, Emma Petersson swam the 100-yard freestyle after not participating in the event yesterday to pick up a fourth place time of 53.27. Teammate Valeria Dalmastro was just behind to pick up fifth place and a time of 53.44.

Freshman Elizabeth Gregory had an impressive third place showing in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.47.

The teams will take to the pool next Saturday in Coral Gables against the University of Miami.
