Weberg Places Seventh in the 100 Breaststroke

Final Stats

Ellie Weberg earned her third All-America award of her Florida Atlantic University swimming career after earning a seventh place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke event at the NCAA Championships in Minneapolis, MN on Friday night.

In the prelims on Friday morning, Weberg posted her fastest time of the season with a time of 1:00.68. The time put her in fifth place entering the finals.

In the finals the Bloomington, MN native swam a 1:00.82 to finish seventh in her third trip to the NCAA Championships. Jessica Hardy from California won the event in 59.43.

"Ellie swam a little different race in the finals," said FAU Head Coach Steve Eckelkamp. "She swam the first 50 yards fast and paid for it in the second 50."

On Saturday she will compete in the 200 breaststroke with the prelims scheduled for noon et and the finals at 8 p.m. et.
