Swimming Breaks Four More Records

Oakland, MI. - Florida Atlantic University's men and women's swimming broke four more school records in the third day of the National Independent Conference Championships hosted by Oakland University. The women remained in third place while the men fell one spot to fifth place.

The 400 medley relay was kind to both squads as the women's 400 medley relay swam a new school time of 3:51.98, breaking the 2002 record of 3:52.10, to finish second overall. The men's 400-medley relay swam a time of 3:19.68, breaking the old school record of 3:20.07, which was set in 1998.

Lisa Andersson finished first in the 200-yard freestyle and earned a B-Cut time for her program record time of 1:48.98, the previous time of 1:49.37 being set 16 years ago. Andersson wasn't the only one earning a B-Cut time. Travis Howard finished fourth overall in the 100-yard breaststroke while breaking the 2002 school record time of 54.90 with a time of 54.85 for B-Cut considerations. All B-Cut times are consideration times for the NCAA championships. Junior Emma Petersson finished second overall in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.62
