Relays Continue to Break Records

Final Stats

Florida Atlantic University's men's and women's swim teams used the second day of National Independent Conference Championship competition to move in the standings, to third, on the women's side and fourth on the men's. The Owls have enjoyed Oakland University's pool, a place where they have now broken five FAU records. The latest records to fall were the men's and women's 200-freestyle relay records.

The women's 200-free relay touched the wall in 1:34.54 for a second place finish, while the men's team finished fourth with a time of 1:22.02.

Lisa Andersson and Emma Petersson led the individual events as Andersson swam a 'B' cut time in the 50-yard freestyle and finished .04 seconds behind the first place finisher with a time of 23.43. Valeria Dalmastro (23.76) and Boguslawa Bedyk (24.12) finished third and fourth in the event to pick up 31 points for the Lady Owls. Petersson finished second in the 200-yard IM (2:05.62).
 

 

Pavel Babaev finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle ()20.47) to pick up 15 points for the men.

The divers, Asheley Boland (239.50) and Antwan Thomas (435.55) , finished fourth and fifth in the one and three-meter events, respectively.
