Swimming Falls Short at Florida

Final Stats

In the final meet of the regular season, the Florida Atlantic University swim team was defeated by the University of Florida. The men feel by 27, 155-128, while the women scored 111 to UF's 169.

Both teams were able to capture the 200 IM and 500-yard freestyle. Marina Mulyayeva continues to excel in the 200 IM and earned a first place finish with a time of 2:04.65. Her counterpart Rich Marzonie took the same event in 1:55.69.

David Muncie and Andrea Van Der Plaats both took the 500-yard freestyle in 4:47.27 and 5:00.83, respectively. Van Der Plaats finished five seconds faster than her closest competitor.

Antony Hine touched the wall in 57.14 in the 100-yard breaststroke. In the 100-yard freestyle, Clayton Halttunene finished first with a time of 45.42.

The team will compete at the National Independent Conference Championship in Rochester, Michigan beginning February 28.
