Swimming Defeated at Florida State

Final Stats

In a big meet for Florida Atlantic University's swim team, the Owls fell to Florida State University in Tallahassee. The men were defeated 162-121 while the Lady Owls scored 112 points to FSU's 174.

The men were led by Alex Broner who finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle. His time of 9:43.15 was a season best for the sophomore from Jacksonville Beach, FL. The Owls also managed to win the 200-yard Medley relay with a time of 1:33.66.

The Lady Seminole team dominated the pool as they managed to win every event. But the Lady Owls had three swimmers swim a season best in the 1000-yard freestyle. Andrea VanDerPlatts earned a second-place finish in a time of 10:20.11, Brie Kelly took fifth in 10:46.81 and Margarita Pazmino finished in 11:05.76.

The Owls will host Florida A&M on January 12 at 2 pm.
