There is an old saying of "put your money where your mouth is." Dr. Richard Staller, Florida Atlantic University's 48th Football Founder, joined in head coach Howard Schnellenberger's efforts to bring football to the FAU campus and has backed up his efforts by helping with the Owl Club and by working with the athletic training staff. He is the department's first and only team dentist and has totally dedicated himself to making the life experience of student-athletes better, through his efforts to institute a custom mouth guard program for all FAU athletes as well as treating all other dental needs. His devotion to the program and family was also a perfect link when he encouraged the athletic department's Champions Club, to support scholarship drive naming a quarterback scholarship in honor of his father. Dr. Staller also currently serves as the president of the Owl Club, the official booster organization of FAU Athletics.
Dr. Staller, who currently practices in Delray Beach with his staff and three dental specialists, is a graduate of Villanova University and Temple University School of Dental Medicine. He is a member and fellow of many national and international organizations including the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantology, and the International Academy for Sports Dentistry. Dr. Staller is on staff at several local hospitals and has lectured extensively all over the United States on various dental topics including cosmetics, implants, reconstruction, and sports dentistry.
