Dexter LaMont was hired as director of marketing for Florida Atlantic University in July of 2002. LaMont is responsible for developing marketing and promotion plans to increase attendance/ticket sales for all home events, enhancing advertising inventory, and incorporating clients' needs into game-day experiences, all in an effort to increase spectator interaction. He also oversees the University's collegiate licensing trademark program.

Prior to joining FAU, LaMont served two years as the director of women's marketing and promotions at Oklahoma State University. His duties included the marketing management of all Cowgirl athletics, including game operations and public and community relations.

Prior to his appointment at OSU, LaMont was a marketing assistant at Florida State University for two years. His primary responsibilities included marketing management for volleyball, softball, and all other Seminoles Olympic sports. He also assisted in a similar capacity with football and women's basketball.

LaMont graduated from Florida State University in 1998, and is married to the former Shannon Edwards.
