Aug. 22, 2007 Florida Atlantic University will host several events to help fans get ready for FAU's football season opener against Middle Tennessee State University on Saturday, September 1. Members of the FAU cheerleading squad, dance team and football team, as well as Coach Howard Schnellenberger and Owsley the Mascot, will attend a pep rally beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, August 27 at Coyote Jack's Grill in FAU's Student Union, located at 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton. The pep rally will be immediately followed by a live broadcast of the FAU SportsPage radio show from 7 to 8 p.m. The program will be simulcast on WMEN-640AM. Festivities will include giveaways, live music from Owl Radio, food and drink specials, and much more. The 2007 FAU Football Kick Off Party will take place Thursday, August 30 from 5:30 to 7 p.m at the Boca East Ale House, 1200 Yamato Road. Coach Schnellenberger and the FAU coaching staff will make an appearance. There will be free appetizers for all FAU supporters. Coach Schnellenberger will cap off the week by hosting a Coaches' breakfast on Friday, August 31 at 8 a.m. in the Founder's Room of the Tom Oxley Athletic Center. Breakfast and coffee will be provided by Dunkin' Donuts. Coach Schnellenberger will provide insight as the team prepares for its season opener against the Blue Raiders. All events are open to the public. The Florida Atlantic University football team kicks off its season on Saturday, September 1 against the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders.
